This 11 x 14 inch pencil illustration on 3 ply Bristol Board of WWII Pilot, Lt.jg. Lyle G. Endicott. He served from September 1942 - December 1945. His Carrier was the USS Steamer Bay (CVE-87). He was an FM2 Wildcat Naval Aviator and his squadron was a composite group VC-90 the "Cats & Bitters" flying support for the invasions of "Luzon Island, Lingayen Gulf, Subic Bay Iwo Jima and Okinawan Islands!" He was also awarded the "Distinguished Flying Cross" and Air Medal." This commission was a gift to his Dad from his son Stan Endicott.
