This 14" x 18" inch pencil illustration of Major Charles D. "Chuck" Moores, I was commissioned by Major "Chuck" Moores to illustrate portrait of him and the one F4 Phantom II's that he flew in 70's and 80's. The illustration was done on 3 ply Bristol board smooth paper and was matted and framed. The final size of the finished piece with mat and frame was 18" x 22". Major Moores completed F-4 RTU at Luke AFB, AZ. After graduation his assignments included the 35 TFS Kunsan AB, Korea, the 492 TFS RAF Lakenheath England where he was the last Phantom crewmember assigned before the base transitioned to F-111. He then transferred to Spangdahlem AB, Germany where he re-activated the 480 TFS. Following the activation he became the Aide-de-Camp to the AFCENT Director of Operations/US Senior Representative (two-star billet) in Brunssum The Netherland, followed by selection as the Aide-de-Camp to the Deputy Commander-in-Chief (four-star billet) EUCOM Headquarters Stuttgart, Germany. Following this assignment he became the Program Manager for the F-4 sale to Egypt, then Program Manager for the avionics upgrade to the Australian F-111’s, followed by the Program Manager for the El Salvadoran Air Force upgrade/modernization program, and Program Manager for a classified program with the People’s Liberation Army Air Force China. For his last active duty assignment Major Moores was part of a small elite team chosen to bring the first B-1B bomber into the Air Force.
