Lonnie Ortega Aviation Art

This was a commissioned painting I did for a client back in 1988 of an SBD Dauntless. The client gave me a model box top cover to use as reference wanting me to do an original copy painting for him of the artwork that was on the cover. The artist artwork that I was to copy was that of Aviation Artist Roy Cross. Roy Cross's artwork is well known in all aviation circles because of his model box artwork for "AIRFIX" plastic models and other aviation prints and book publications. The painting size was 16"x 20" acrylic painting on canvas.
